Sarbjit Movie 2016 | Sarbjit's REAL & UNKNOWN Facts<br /><br />Interesting facts about Sarabjit Singh There is a lot of curiosity among the audience about Sarabjit Singh. After more than two years the story of Sarabjit Singh, a farmer from Bhikhiwind in Punjab, who did not commit any crime but languished in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat jail in Pakistan will be brought to life by director Omung Kumar in his Biopic Sarabjit. Randeep Hooda plays the role of Sarabjit while Aishwarya Rai plays the role of Sarabjit's sister, Dalbir Kaur. Have a look at interesting facts about Sarabjit Singh. Sarabjit was from Bhikhiwind, located along the Indo-Pakistani border in Taran district of Punjab. Sarabjit passed his class X exam and then began doing menial work to fend for himself. Sarabjit was married to Sukhpreet Kaur and has two daughters Swapandeep and Poonam Kaur. The pakistan authorities alleged he was Manjit Singh and was responsible for the 4 blasts which killed 14 people. It was also alleged he was arrested while returning back into India after carrying out the bombings. He is accused of working for Indian intelligence and was viewed as a terrorist in Pakistan. Sarabjit spent 22 years of his life in a tiny room, where he could hardly stand, with tall walls and big lock outside his door. There was no fan in his room and was given a small pot of water, in which he had to manage for the entire day. A British lawyer, Jas Uppal campaigning for his release, pointed to several problems with the prosecution in the trial including that His identity was never verified or proved in court and no forensic evidence was provided at his trial to link him to the bomb attacks. On 26 April 2013, Amer Aftab and Mudassar, attempted a murderous attack on Sarabjit. They sharpened spoons to use as knives, made blades from pieces of empty ghee tin and collected bricks to kill him to take revenge for those killed in the blasts. He maintained a diary in which he used to write all the details of what happened with him in so many years, but unfortunately, that diary was not given to Dalbir after his death. The man who crossed the borders and reached Pakistan on foot in the year 1990 returned back to his hometown but in a coffin wrapped with the Indian flag on 2nd May 2013.
